Monica Walton is a writer and journalist whose warmth and friendly attitude personifies in everything she turns her hand to. She’s freelanced as a journalist and producer at ITV’s flagship breakfast show, Good Morning Britain, ET Canada and Fodor’s Travel Guides, and hosted at the Monaco Yacht Show. Across the pond, she’s presented and produced the tv show, This is Cayman for a decade, promoting the Cayman Islands and working around the Caribbean creating content for tourism boards, networks and brands. She is a multi-media journalism grad (BA Hons), NCTJ qualified, and has an MA in TV Journalism from Goldsmith’s University.

Monica has clocked up millions of views on Youtube through branded content she’s presented and produced. She’s presented for technology and lifestyle brands such as Jeep, Vogue, Entertainment Tonight, Virgin Produced, DJI Global, Tripadvisor and Mastercard.

Monica started her TV career as a court reporter for the country’s national news, CBS affiliate Cayman 27. Having to learn how to shoot, write and edit news packages she quickly became proficient at video content and was in demand across the region for global brands and networks. She’s filmed multiple investigative documentaries that were aired across the Caribbean and U.S. She received an award for ‘Best First Time Director’ at the Los Angeles Cinematography Awards 2020 for, ‘The Change Project.’ ‘Fighting for Fatherhood’ 2021 won Best TV Feature in British Journalism Training Council Awards in London and a Royal Television Society Award for best post-graduate journalism.

In 2019 Monica travelled to Uganda to film and report for US-based charity, Water To Thrive, interviewing families accessing clean water for the first time. The Cayman Islands community rallied together to raise funds for two freshwater boreholes in Mityana, Uganda.

An experienced writer, she contributes regularly to AFAR Magazine and Real Life Caribbean Magazine, writing about travel and hotels from the Caribbean islands.
